March
7th,
2013 day at sea
The
weather is so much warmer as we head north, and the top over the pool
was open today. More
people are spending time outside. Third deck which is somewhat
protected from the winds, and 9th deck has lots of walkers (doing
their laps), and others relaxing in the loungers reading or snoozing,
or watching the seas in the bright sunshine. A number of people
played mini-golf on the top level of the ship, in spite of travelling
at 20 knots plus. (Imagine the shots to be made in that kind of a
wind.)
Lots
of people
attended the arts and crafts session today to learn how to
make
a small bamboo wall hanging.
Some
people were
taking dance lessons in the Splendor theatre this morning.
Today
was the leg 3 slot pull in the casino,
24
SASA members
feed their $15 to the selected machine and watched it swallow it,
without a burp. The entertainment lasted about 1 and 1/2 hours before
the final winnings were known. Overall, the group who played the
machine at $3 times 5 pulls, came out with $9 each back. Winning of
$9 or loss of $6, depending on your point of view.
Mickeylives
talk today was Rio De Janeiro, and a welcome to the leg 3 newcomers.
A number of us are planning on being on deck to watch the ship come
into port, with a view of Christ the Redeemer high on the hill above
Rio.
Our
arrival into Rio is an hour later than scheduled, so not sure if the
clouds will have developed over Christ the Redeemer by the time we
arrive. (Told this is an almost daily event due to the mountains,
wind currents, and location). If this happens, our best view will be
as we leave port, as the heat will burn off the clouds.
Rio
De Janeiro here we come.
