2/9/2013 ~ Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala

We are in Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala today.

There is not much here.   A dock, a long bridge to walk over and several palapas shading people selling  their wears under them and many paths to choose to walk on to check every different one out.  There are beautiful colors on everything hanging or laying on tables.  From scarfs to shirts to tablecloths to purses, pouches and so much more.

And beyond that are many buses waiting to take you wherever you want to go on a tour.  As far as you can see is scrub brush, a few trees and lots of dirt with 1 or 2 roads leaving here.  There are tours to Antigua which is about 1 ½ hrs away.  I, myself  choose not to go anywhere today.

So, I will take pictures of what I see today and maybe gather a few up from the other Chiquitas and add them later on.  So I will say adios for now . . .

This is the Port  / Terminal where we all walked from the ship.

Inside the Largest Palapa above ~ they welcomed all of us.

This woman is looping ~ creating beautiful handiwork.

This is a statue from inside the Large Palapa

  1. Conny and I took a ship excursion here...we enjoyed it, but the bus ride was long.
