Our SASA (SPLENDOR AROUND SOUTH AMERICA) ~

BREATHE FRIENDS SEA WRITE Blog idea came about over the past year when the 4 of us got to know each other on a cruisecritic.com Roll Call while reading and communicating together on a message board called " Feb 3, Feb 20, Mar 5 South America around the Horn." about our ~ Once In A Lifetime Cruise.

Everyone of us on this SASA CC Thread, are going on the same cruise ~ A B2B2B cruise, re-positioning the Carnival Splendor from Long Beach, CA to her NEW Home Port in NEW YORK, as she cannot fit through the Panama Canal.

We are All cruising on board "Splendor" all the way around South America ~ starting February 3, 2013 and ending March 23, 2013.

The blog idea was initiated by Amazingrace, who invited us to join and our name “BREATHE FRIENDS SEA WRITE” was dreamed up by bgone08 and from there the Blog became a joint effort including : Amazingrace, bgone08, searaider & jigjager.

The 4 of us come from different parts of the US and Canada, and will meet for the first time face to face aboard the ship. Our intent is to document our cruise from what we see around us, hear from our fellow SASA cruisers and what we are doing in port and on sea days.

There are approximately 280 people in our SASA roll call planning to 'Splendor Around (All or Part of) South America'. Some of these people (The Salsa 49’er’s) sailed this trip in reverse direction on the Carnival Splendor in 2009; some have never sailed before, some have sailed on many ships in different parts of the world, and some have sailed on a few ships.

Our roll call group comes from many locations, including Australia, United Kingdom, Russia, Canada, Istanbul, and USA. Some are doing only one leg or two legs of the cruise and most are on all three legs.

Amazingrace started a simple SASA CC Roll Call online, on a program called Editgrid.com for our SASA group and over time it grew into a Mighty thing.

14 fellow cruisers assisted Amazingrace behind the scenes to keep the EditGrid updated. It was a labor of love requiring much attention and dedication for the fairness of all and will be a wealth of wonderful information for years to come for anyone who wants to peruse it.
